Title: Living Beyond the Limits of Time
Hello! Today, I want to talk about something we all feel the weight of—time. It rules our schedules, it pressures our decisions, and if we’re honest, it can feel like an enemy rather than a gift. But here’s the good news: God is not bound by time, and as His children, we don’t have to be either.
Psalm 90:2 tells us, “Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.” God isn’t ticking away the seconds like we do. He operates in kairos time—divine, appointed moments—not just chronos time, which is the ticking of the clock.
So what does that mean for us? It means we’re called to steward time, not be enslaved by it. Ephesians 5:15-16 says, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
Too often, we say, “I don’t have time,” but what if that’s a lie? What if we have all the time we need to fulfill our calling, but we’ve let distractions, fear, or busyness steal it? Jesus never rushed, yet He fulfilled everything the Father sent Him to do.
The enemy wants us to live in anxiety over time—rushing, worrying, or feeling behind. But God calls us to live eternally minded, present in His timing, and walking in peace. 2 Peter 3:8 reminds us, “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” So, instead of saying, “I don’t have time,” let’s start saying, “I have all the time God has given me to do what He’s called me to.”
Let’s shift our focus today. Instead of being ruled by time, let’s rule over it by aligning ourselves with God’s eternal purpose. He is outside of time, and through Him, we can move beyond the limits we’ve placed on ourselves.
Let’s pray:
Father, thank You that You are the author of time, not the victim of it. Help us to walk in wisdom, steward our days well, and trust Your timing. Free us from the pressure of rushing and instead help us live purposefully in the divine moments You have set before us. In Jesus’ name, amen
