Feeling Distant from God?
Have you ever felt distant from God because you haven’t spent time with Him? I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to go days—or even weeks—without opening the Word or spending time in His presence. And in those moments, it’s easy to feel like He’s far away, or that somehow we’ve lost our connection with Him.
But here’s the truth:
He never left you.
He’s right there. Right beside you. And the Holy Spirit is still indwelling within you.
Just like Adam and Eve in the garden, we sometimes run and hide when we feel guilt or shame for neglecting our relationship with God. But remember, even in their disobedience, God didn’t abandon them. He pursued them.
“Then the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” – Genesis 3:9
He asked because He wanted to restore that fellowship, not because He had turned away. And just as He called Adam and Eve back, He calls us back to intimacy with Him.
Even when we feel far, God is near.
The Holy Spirit, who is living inside of you, empowers you to return to that place of intimacy.
It’s not about striving; it’s about leaning into His presence, asking for the desire to seek Him again.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” – John 14:26
Even in your absence, He is there, waiting for you to return. And the Holy Spirit is your strength, your comfort, and the one who rekindles your hunger for the Word.
So, if you feel distant today, I encourage you to simply open your heart to His presence again. You don’t need to clean up or be perfect. Just come as you are—and let the Holy Spirit draw you back into His embrace.
You are never too far gone, because God is always pursuing you.
